I am a PhD student at the Philip Merrill College of Journalism at the University of Maryland, College Park. I hold a Master of Science in computer science and a Master of Arts in communication from the University of Northern Iowa and an undergraduate degree in journalism from St.Petersburg State University, Russia.

My research is a combination of journalism/media/communication research and computer science, which can be broadly described as computational communication. I am currently working on several projects, involving automated discovery and analysis of discussion threads in the blogosphere and media, as well as investigating possibilities for automated analysis of media coverage. I will be showcasing the results of my experiments on this website.
